FoodAllergy.world
I. Our Mission:
FoodAllergy.world is a nonprofit dedicated to breaking down barriers for individuals and families living with food allergies. It provides free, web curated information from web sites to help you navigate daily life, travel, and emergency situations safely and confidently – wherever you are in the world.
II. Why We Started This:
Our founder’s international work experience and severe food allergies showed how having food allergies while traveling can be terrifying. Trying to explain what you can’t eat in a foreign language? Nearly impossible. Almost dying from a meal you thought was safe? Been there.
Experiences sparked the creation of FoodAllergy.world. With the recognition that food allergies create barriers that extend far beyond just avoiding certain foods. They limit travel, create anxiety around dining out, and can leave families feeling isolated and overwhelmed.
III. What Makes Our Approach Different
Community-Driven Resources: We blend scientific research with authentic stories from real people who’ve faced similar challenges. Sometimes knowing “you’re not alone” is just as crucial as understanding the medical facts.
Global Perspective: Our research spans seven countries (US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and South Africa), giving you insights into international approaches to food allergy management – essential whether you’re traveling or simply wanting to learn from global best practices.
Technology Integration: We leverage everyday technology – smartphones, smartwatches, translation apps, and mapping services – to create accessible safety solutions that work in real-time.
Always Free: As a nonprofit, we firmly believe that life-saving information should never be behind a paywall. Every resource we offer is completely free of charge.
