Nightshade list of not only the common ones but also the gotcha ones, some of which have been personally found by unfortunately eating them. Check with your physician about this list.

When you do a search for a list of nightshades, you will find lots of websites that list the most common nightshade foods that are found in restaurants. Few of these nightshade lists will have those foods that you may find when traveling internationally, and even fewer will have spices or condiments to avoid. Some lists will have blueberries and soy, and others will declare them safe. Proceed with caution and consult your physician.

Not A Nightshade But Be Careful

Solanine can also be found in other fruits and vegetables that are not in the nightshade family.

Blueberries, Strawberries, Okra: The leaves and stems of these plants contain solanine. While the levels are generally low, it’s best to avoid consuming them.
Artichokes: The edible parts are safe, but the leaves contain solanine and should be avoided.
Apples: The seeds contain solanine. Eating whole apples is generally safe, but it’s advisable to remove the seeds before consumption.
